Shell is planning to increase number of drilling & workover rigs to make significant turnaround in its hydrocarbon maturation and operational performance, with respect of reserves replacement ratio to be > 1, production decline arrested, and HSE & Asset Integrity systems becoming sustainably embedded. The Egypt business needs to transform from a declining business into an exciting platform for growth with opportunities emerging in tight gas, and difficult to produce carbonates. Shells recent awarded exploration concession in Egypt is a vote of confidence in our turnaround, and presents exciting growth opportunities for Shell in the Western Desert. This position serves as a very important part of the Shell governance team overseeing Shell interests in Egypt. In particular, the job purposes are: Deliver additional value for Bapetco by application of quality core Production Technology discipline skills.Consider in depth well integrity aspects in all technical proposals and in execution & operations phases.Be an active team member driving the WRFM & production optimization improvement programme in Bapetco.Lead by example with hands-on application of PT excellence.Coach/supervise junior PE / PT staff.AccountabilityThe incumbent will be responsible for: All PT aspects of ongoing Bapetco operations (well testing, surveillance. restoration, optimization, facility debottlenecking).QA/QC of all well intervention activitiesShort-term production forecastingCoaching/Mentoring local PT staffReviewing the completion design for all new wellsWell Integrity for all operational wells and develop & maintain wells operating envelop.PT input into ongoing development studies.Job Requirements:University degree (M.Sc. or PhD) in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.Some 10+ years experience in Production Technology and related subsurface evaluation work in a variety of producing gas/oil reservoirs and well designs (completion, stimulation and artificial lift)Fulfils or exceeds the JCP requirements for a Production Technology JG3, with a level of knowledge in new technology implementations for better reservoir surveillances implementation.Skilled in production system optimization, well modelling, reservoir surveillance/management, completion design including hydraulic fracs and development planning.Thorough knowledge of well services.Commitment to staff development and mentoring experience in a multi-cultural environment.
