Schlumberger has an opening in Pleasanton, TX for a Production Technology (PT) Field Specialist. The PT Field Specialist works at client well-sites applying technical knowledge and skills to administer a variety of chemical treatments which promote healthy oil & gas production.  He/she demonstrates a skill-set that helps successfully build client relationships and meet sales and operational goals. 
This position reports to the local Production Technologies Field Service Manager

The candidate may work on any of the following:

Works under the direction of the PT Account Manager in charge of the assigned client account
Recommends chemical treatments for a variety of production challenges such as, but not limited to: corrosion, hydrogen sulfide, paraffin buildup, emulsions, scale and bacteria growth
Works remotely at numerous well sites, at times without supervision
Take inventory of all different chemicals used in the field and maintain inventory records with management
Assist sales team in providing technical data
Pump repairs and maintenance (pneumatic and solar)
Sampling produced water and oil in the field for analysis
Lab testing which includes but isn’t limited to: chlorides, iron/manganese, complete water testing, routine oil analysis, density and corrosion
May be required to administer chemical treatments in the field with pumps and treater trucks
Create reports and administer to account management
Create technical proposals to administer non-routine chemical treatments
Do field surveys for new clients and existing clients
Forecast account activity and revenue generation
Submit chemical order forms and ensure delivery to well-sites
May be required to give presentations on technical information to clients and management
Maintain safe driving record; will be required to drive vehicles to remote well-sites
Be knowledgeable and certified in many areas of Health, Safety and Environment.  Includes but is not limited to: chemical handling and storage, hazardous waste, driving, PPE usage, fire safety, H2S (hydrogen sulfide), first aid, lockout/tagout, hazardous spills, working from heights, dropped objects, slips trips & falls, workplace ergonomics,
Required to be compliant in safety training and reporting
Comply with all government, industry and company regulations and standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment, as well as, reduce environmental impact
Attend training courses and a variety of internal meetings while not on client location
May be required to travel up to 80% and work remotely

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum high school / GED Required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Science, Business, Geoscience or another relevant degree
2+ years of relevant Oil & Gas Production industry experience
Understanding of production technologies, how wells are produced and technical knowledge of chemical treatments for paraffin, scale, hydrogen sulfide, emulsions and bacteria growth
Must have basic understanding of pneumatic and solar pumps used at well-sites.  Can demonstrate components of each type of pump
Experience in laboratory testing produced water and oil (chlorides, hardness, iron and manganese, specific gravity) as well as corrosion testing
Valid state motor vehicle license required
Good interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary
Strong customer service skills
Strong presentation skills
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft SharePoint
Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time, must be willing to work in remote areas with little to no supervision
Willingness to work around hazardous chemicals and/or natural gases such has hydrogen sulfide
Must be willing to live in company provided housing which can include hotels, apartments and man-camps
Strong technical skills in areas of natural science and geology, chemistry, mechanics and mathematics
Candidates must legally be allowed to work and reside in the United States without sponsorship
Has initiative and ability to work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines
Excellent analytical, administrative, communications and organizational skills
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
