The petrophysicist (PP) in the central WF&RO; team exists to provide expert technical support to all regions for planning, execution and interpretation of complex logging operations across the Production Petrophysics Toolkit (PPTK) workflow. The PP will also represent BP, working with vendors to identify and qualify new tools and technologies that will deliver enhanced surveillance and value to BP through PPTK. In addition, the PP plays a key role in developing and enhancing discipline capability as a super-user of PPTK and L&OD; delivery.
The primary accountabilities of the petrophysicist are as follows:
Provide technical assurance, consultancy and operational support to regional practitioners for complex and non-routine logging operations across the fully integrated PPTK workflow in Techlog to deliver efficient planning and execution of well interventions underpinning improved wellwork results.
Working with vendors to identify, develop and qualify new logging tools or surveillance technologies that will add value to BP via the PPTK and deliver more value from the reservoir development outcome.
Expert user and champion of specialist interpretation software PPTK, and development of enhancements to improve capability and adoption for regional practitioners.
Technical content owner and faculty for PPTK L&OD; delivering material across all awareness levels and discipline boundaries.
Connecting and enhancing discipline capability through creation and leadership of the PPTK User Group (Sub-chapter of PP CoP) and collaboration with related CoPs.
