The Production Geologist is a member of the Shell Operated Ventures Team, responsible for conducting subsurface work supporting Development and Production activities in the Operated Assets. The PG is responsible for the integration of sub-surface data inputs to identify, select and define reservoir opportunities and to support the execution of new wells and ongoing production optimization. As a data integrator, the PG must work closely with other subsurface disciplines as well as well as engineers.
Reservoir Geology – responsible for providing sedimentological and reservoir geologic support to the evaluation of prospects and fields and to capture this information at the correct scale in reservoir models
Static Resource Volume Estimation – performing static (in place) volume estimation to support annual reserves bookings and business decisions, identifying the production geology uncertainties and applying principles of uncertainty and risk management for hydrocarbon project maturation.
Static reservoir Modeling – Generation and analysis of a range of integrated static reservoir models to manage uncertainties in the sub-surface.
Well & Reservoir Management – ability to interpret and integrate geologic, geophysical and production data to manage well and field performance through reservoir performance models
Participate in integrated field development work, being responsible for the production geology work content and quality and timely delivery in a given study.
Ensure that all production geological data and processes receive the proper quality control and technical assurance.
Support the Production Geoscience discipline in continuous improvement, and the capturing and sharing of Best Practices/Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Bachelor's, MSc or PhD in geology related subjects with experience in development assignments;
Understanding of Deepwater depositional systems
Static Reservoir Modeling skills, with experience in Petrel
Field/Reservoir evaluation (including risking & volumetrics)
Strong technical/analytical skills and the ability to integrate complex datasets
Carbonate Stratigraphy and reservoir architecture is a plus
