Our client, a leading oil & gas organization is looking to add a Production Engineer specializing in Subsurface developments. This is a 1 year independent contract with a very high possibility of extension for the right candidate, based in St. John's, NL. The Position: This senior level individual will perform as part of a multi-disciplinary subsurface team responsible to optimize, develop, and execute the development plan for the organization's upcoming project. This role will have a focus on well planning, completion design, topsides integration, and operational integration.
Key Responsibilities: * Optimize water flood and gas lift performance for existing wells * Identify and evaluate production optimization potential to maximize the value of the existing wells * Assist in the planning and execution of depletion/drilling strategies within a team environment * Design completion strategies for new wells including water/gas injector and producer designs * Evaluate artificial lift options and select optimal gas lift or ESP designs * Plan well intervention strategies for new well designs * Production well and system modeling and forecasting for existing and future development wells * Develop reservoir monitoring and management strategies including production logging * Evaluate production enhancement technologies to increase reservoir contact and well performance * Develop production chemistry strategies * Guide and provide subsurface input into flow assurance studies as needed * Interface with the Production Operations, Drilling & Completions, and Project teams * Mentor other production engineering staff as needed * Lead subsurface guidance for measurement and allocation systems * Steward subsurface operational and facilities interfaces; participate in HAZOP reviews as needed * Develop start-up and operational guidelines from the subsurface perspective * Assist in preparing regulatory applications and interface with the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board * Keep informed of technical advancements in the field of production engineering * Work with joint venture partners to advance production engineering understanding across partner organizations Key Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering * Professional Engineer status with PEG-NL* 15 years' experience in the Oil & Gas industry, experience both working offshore and supporting offshore teams in the NFLD region * Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team * Strong understanding of depletion planning and reservoir engineering * Expert knowledge in nodal analysis techniques * Knowledge of flow systems, flow calculations and allocation procedures * Experience in development of operational procedures * Experience in Sandface Completion Design * Expert in design, operation and optimization of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs) * Drilling, Completions, and Intervention/Workover experience * Offshore Operations Experience (Platform or FPSO) * Experience using Nodal Analysis tools (Prosper/GAP/etc.) * Experience using Production Allocation Systems (OFM, Flow Manager, etc.)
