Aberdeen, SKWe’re seeking a Production Engineer (STaR) to join our Subsurface team in Aberdeen.
Reporting to the Scott Area – Reservoir Engineering Manager, you will be working within the “Collaboration Room” to support production, injection, surveillance and reservoir management decisions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
The Production engineer is the key interface between the subsurface team and the offshore team. Your key responsibilities include defining the weekly production and surveillance target;, describing the planned and unplanned losses; and monitoring well performance and integrity. Using the data collected, the role requires the Engineer to maintain and update the well and integrated production system models, to allow production to be optimised through appropriate distribution of gas lift and water injection.
To deliver the core responsibilities of the role you will be required to engage effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. These include the Scott Platform team, Onshore Production Operations, the Scott Subsurface Team, as well as being a key interface with the Scott and Telford Joint Venture Partners.
You will play a key role in delivering best-in-class results through:
Providing daily production and injection optimisation input to the offshore team.
Identifying and prioritising data gathering and surveillance activities. Update models on the basis of the data collected.
Defining and monitoring well operating envelopes.
Monitoring well performance for evidence of changes, including well integrity
Monitoring subsea pressures and temperature to assess infrastructure integrity.
Defining short term production targets and describe planned losses.
Identifying and planning well opportunities / interventions including surveillance activities.
Maintaining well and system models and use these to define production optimisation actions.
Providing input to the completion design of infill wells.
Who are we looking for?
You will be qualified to MSc or equivalent degree in either Petroleum Engineering / Reservoir Engineering with robust and relevant experience within the Oil and Gas industry. Furthermore, you will ideally have experience in managing mature assets within the North Sea. We are particularly interested in you if you have the following skills and knowledge:
Broad knowledge of Production Engineering, covering reservoir management, production optimisation and short-term forecasting
Well developed problem-solving skills to interpret data and form conclusions and solutions
Understanding of the concepts of decision and risk analysis with an appreciation of the key factors that control recovery factor and well and reservoir performance
A willingness to learn about and embrace new technologies
