PermanentReporting to the Manager, Production Engineering. This is a permanent full time position based out of the Calgary corporate office, with occasional travel to our Fort MacKay field location.
Contribute to the success of our projects by working effectively in a team environment with Reservoir, Facilities, HSE and other disciplines.
Facilitate and provide guidance for growth towards 35,000 bbl/day of SAGD production.
Understand and interpret production engineering data, including identification and troubleshooting where required
Provide operational support to the SAGD well planning, drilling activities and reduction of downtime.
Provide support and strategy development for workover readiness, including production enhancement opportunities
Be able to understand and optimize the interaction between the downhole equipment and surface modules
Support the development of well integrity programs.
Support MRCP Field Production Engineers whenever possible (Travel to site will be required)
Enhance the SAGD well operating procedures.
Aid in the definition of the various reports required and in defining the operational change authorities.
Provide operational input to that Automation and Data Management process.
Mentor and guide junior production staff.
Undergraduate degree in engineering
10+ years’ related production engineering-related experience.
6+ years’ direct experience in SAGD production engineering and operating SAGD projects
Demonstrated technical expertise in the design and operation of SAGD wells and artificial lift systems
Strong knowledge of SAGD well design, workovers and production operations
Field engineering experience will be an asset
Demonstrated business acumen for economic recommendation of projects.
Well versed in computer applications related to production/completions/reservoir work
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills complemented with a strong work ethic and initiative
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of oil and gas asset management and focus on continuous improvement in all the aspects of production engineering and operations
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diverse personalities and work force
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
Strong written and oral communication skills
Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
