Husky is currently looking for a Production Engineer to join their Lloydminster Thermal Engineering Team. Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, this role is responsible to provide engineering support for thermal operations and will play a key role in the implementation of oil well optimization strategies.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Monitoring oil production, steam injection, and operating costs
Well and facility optimization, evaluating well performance problems, recommending and implementing well work over strategies.
Completing economic evaluations on servicing, optimizations, well tie-ins and facility work
Working closely with and supporting the needs of field operations staff & completions engineering
Participating as an asset team member in the planning of investment and development optimization strategies
Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies
Preparation of annual production budgets & forecast
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technologist's Diploma (eligible for APEGA/APEGS or ASET/SASTT professional designation)
Minimum 5 years Engineering experience, preferably in the Oil and gas industry
Production Engineering/well optimization experience would be an asset
Thermal experience would be an asset
Familiar with government regulations, corporate policies and procedures
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Highly motivated and results oriented
Strong analytical, problem solving, business acumen, and decision-making skills
Well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Office
Working Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
