Production Engineer – SubsurfaceAre you a Production Engineer and interested in joining the team of our client? Our client is a major oil and gas company, which is looking for a driven, independent and enthusiastic Production Engineer. The role will be located in St. John’s, NL.Main Functions: This position will provide production engineering expertise to the Subsurface Developments team. The successful candidate will perform as part of a multi-disciplinary subsurface team responsible to optimize, develop, and execute the development plan for the upcoming West White Rose Development. This role will have a focus on well planning, completion design, topsides integration, operational integration and planning for West White Rose.Responsibilities: Optimize water flood and gas lift performance for existing wellsIdentify and evaluate production optimization potential to maximize the value of the existing wellsAssist in the planning and execution of depletion/drilling strategies within a team environmentDesign completion strategies for new wells including water/gas injector and producer designsEvaluate artificial lift options and select optimal gas lift or ESP designsPlan well intervention strategies for new well designsProduction well and system modeling and forecasting for existing and future development wellsDevelop reservoir monitoring and management strategies including production loggingEvaluate production enhancement technologies to increase reservoir contact and well performanceDevelop production chemistry strategiesGuide and provide subsurface input into flow assurance studies as neededInterface with the Production Operations, Drilling & Completions, and Project teamsMentor other production engineering staff as neededLead subsurface guidance for measurement and allocation systemsSteward subsurface operational and facilities interfaces; participate in HAZOP reviews as neededDevelop start-up and operational guidelines from the subsurface perspectiveAssist in preparing regulatory applications and interface with the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum BoardKeep informed of technical advancements in the field of production engineeringWork with joint venture partners to advance production engineering understanding across partner organizationsQualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in EngineeringProfessional Engineer status with PEG-NLExperience working in a multi-disciplinary teamStrong understanding of depletion planning and reservoir engineeringExpert knowledge in nodal analysis techniquesKnowledge of flow systems, flow calculations and allocation proceduresExperience in development of operational proceduresExperience in Sandface Completion DesignExpert in design, operation and optimization of Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs)15+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industryOil & Gas Offshore experience; experience both working offshore and supporting offshore teams in the NFLD regionMajor projects experienceDrilling, Completions, and Intervention/Workover experienceOffshore Operations Experience (Platform or FPSO)Experience using Nodal Analysis tools (Prosper/GAP/etc.)Experience using Production Allocation Systems (OFM, Flow Manager, etc.)NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:Production Operations Experience; strong understanding of how to run a facility, process start-ups, shutdowns, etc.Well Stimulation experience; a strong understanding and exposure to the execution of hydraulic fractionExperience using Sandface Modeling tools (Netool, etc.)Experience using WellcatWhat we Offer: Brunel Energy provides specialist personnel to the international oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation andconstruction industries.
