A global leader in the oil and gas 'flow management' industry are looking for a 'production engineer' to join their team on a permanent basis. As a 'production engineer' you will work in the engineering department and be responsible for the introduction of new products, designed by the engineering team in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
What will you be doing?
As a 'production engineer' you will be a significant member of the team involved in the preparation of manufacturing facilities for a new product as well as supporting the current product portfolio. Your main priority will be taking the design to the manufacturing stage ensuring all documentation, record changes etc. are actioned. Please note this is not a project manager, but a production engineer the main things to focus on are design/development/manufacturing/production.
What skills/experience should you have?
At least five years' experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing design related project role
Good understanding of new product introduction, and able to influence the design of a product In its early stages
Good understanding of machining and manufacturing processes of low volume high reliability products
A degree or equivalent experience in mechanical/production/project engineering or related discipline
Knowledge of testing during the design phase of the project, to include EMC and environmental testing (desirable)
Working knowledge of MRP system (SAP) (desirable)
Experience of manufacture of high reliability rugged electronic/mechanical assemblies (desirable)
Mechanically biased but will see electronics components inserted into the assembly so some sort of PCB layout would be desirable.
