Denbury is currently seeking a Production Engineer to oversee the daily operations and reservoir management duties for a field under tertiary CO2 flood operations located in southeastern Montana. The job will be based in Denbury’s corporate office located in Plano, Texas. Production for this area averages ~4,800 BOEPD and includes a total well count measuring more than 200.
The Production Engineer will perform all production engineering activities in the field including: flood surveillance, WAG cycles, design and implement stimulation activities, oversee chemical program, and insure field stays in compliance with regulatory bodies. The engineer is expected to collaborate with the team and field staff to efficiently flood the reservoir and execute the team’s recommendations to enhance the recovery process.
The position will report to the Wyoming/Montana Asset Leader of the North Business Unit (NBU) and would best be filled by an individual with accomplished skills in production engineering with emphasis in reservoir management production optimization, and an inherent ability to openly collaborate. Proven production engineering experience in CO2 EOR operations and field management is a plus.
Work in a multi-discipline asset team to develop and manage production performance in conventional waterflood and tertiary CO2 flood operations.
Point of contact for field operations.
Monitor production/injection/disposal well performance and conduct reservoir surveillance to develop action plans to maximize the value of the asset.
Assist regulatory analyst to insure mechanical integrity tests, plug and abandon activities, and other regulatory requirements are done in a timely fashion.
Monitor chemical program, stimulation program, and lease operating expense for efficiency and ways to improve.
Train and utilize engineering technicians to improve efficiency and effectiveness in performing reservoir management and optimization activities.

Minimum of 5+ years Production Engineering experience.
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
Strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of project economics
Experience with Spotfire, Cygnet, and IFM (MBal, Prosper, GAP) strongly preferred.
Minimum B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
Environmental & Physical Demands
Work will primarily be conducted in an office environment; travel may be required to district and field offices and/or oil and gas production facilities, with the occasional need to wear personal protective equipment. Position requires the ability to frequently communicate information and to manage the possible stress of an office environment. Work may include being stationary for long periods of time, with occasional movement about the office. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds is required. Position requires constant operation and viewing of a computer screen and other office machinery.
