The Production Engineer is based at Corva’s headquarters in Houston to provide operational and technical sales support for Corva. The Engineer works closely with the operations center and reviews data to build analytical dashboards to illustrate trends and provide insight. The Production Engineer performs QAQC checks and makes recommendations to customers. The Production Engineer also coordinates the customer requirements for new functionalities and creates presentations, as needed. The Production Engineer must be highly self-motivated and passionate about adding value for customers and helping shape their future.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide engineering oversight and guidance in the creation of relevant applications and forecasting tools
Forecast production with decline and type curve analysis
Drive collaboration between technical disciplines to improve operations
Familiarity with workover rig operations
Familiarity with well stimulations (acid and frac designs a plus)
Knowledge of CO2 flood or mature waterflood experience
Knowledge of artificial lift design and optimization as applied to conventional oil wells
Provide technical demonstrations of the Corva software for sales and training purposes
Identify various types of data quality issues through regular QAQC checks and follow procedures to correct issues
Identify anomalies and problematic data
Ensure proper operation of the web-based system through continuous checks
Provide testing of staged systems prior to deployment
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies in operations
Continuous learning, including development of industry white papers and technical presentations
30% travel required, to customers offices around the country
Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills


Minimum of 5 (five) years in production engineering field
Bachelors degree in petroleum engineering or equivalent
Strong technical presentation skills
Extensive knowledge of production engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment
Strong analytical thinking skills with attention to detail
Ability to identify process improvements, anomalies and problem data
Ability to train others and a willingness to share knowledge and work closely with the team

Recommended, but not required:

Experience in completions
Experience in drilling
