Calgary, ABPermanentPositionThis position would be reporting to the Exploitation Engineering Team Lead North with a focus on ORLEN Upstream Canada’s Kakwa, Kaybob and Sweeney assets. The Production Engineer will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve production and reduce operating costs. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with hands-on multi-disciplinary team of geology, geophysics, finance/accounting, land and field staff in order to foster an upbeat and driven work environment.ResponsibilitiesAttend technical team meetings as requiredIdentify and aid in development of exploration and reservoir depletion strategiesWork closely with field staff to optimize existing production and support operations cost savings and production initiativesEvaluate and recommend workovers to ensure optimal downhole design for extended run lifeLead implementation of new technology initiativesRegular field travel to meet with operations and facility construction personnelActive involvement with completions, workover, and facility projectsProvide Engineering support for other areas within the corporation as neededQualificationsUniversity Degree in Engineering and a member of APEGA4 – 8 years of relevant oil and gas industry engineering experiencePrevious Montney involvement an assetUnderstanding of Gas Lift (GAPL an asset) and Rod Pumping artificial lift applicationsFamiliar and comfortable with Mosaic, Visage and GeoScout softwarePrevious experience in resource/shale play horizontal multi-stage D&C; operationsAn independent, self-starter with a strong ability to take the initiativeJob Types: Full-time, PermanentExperience:relevant engineering: 4 years (Required)Licence:APEGA (Required)Language:English (Required)
