Joining Sinopec Canada as a Production Engineer means becoming an important part of our team dedicated to making successful contributions to a sustainable future.Primary Purpose of PositionReporting to the Manager, Production Engineering, this position is responsible for providing expertise to plan and coordinate delivery of short term production targets within Sinopec Canada. This will include significant involvement in monitoring well/area production, recommending optimization opportunities, and evaluating well performance. The role will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including Field Operations, Exploitation/Reservoir Engineers, Facility engineers and the Completions Group to ensure maximum value creation from our well and assets.Roles and Responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to: Take accountability for an area production performance and work closely with the field and Calgary staff to optimize production;Help lead area well performance and optimization reviews;Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts for production and operating costsOversee all Artificial Lift (beam pump, electrical submersible pump, plunger lift, gas lift, and jet pump) performance and making recommendations for improved performance efficiency;Coordinate new well start-ups and develop production management plans;Work with production accounting to ensure allocations are correct;Maintain measurement systems (PVR) to accurately represent area well production reporting;Work with Joint Venture team and third party processors on operations related agreements (processing, gathering, compression) and other Joint Venture related issues;Work with partners on operated and non-operated projects;Maintain AER regulatory compliance and address all regulatory issues.Position Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceExperience in sweet and sour oil and gas facility, well and gas gathering system operations;A strong working knowledge of all types of artificial lift design, selection and installation;Measurement system (SCADA and PVR) expertise is required;Excellent computer skills with Microsoft applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;Comfortable presenting projects and ideas (MS PowerPoint) to management to gain support and approval;Strong ability to manage workload and meet timelines with always changing priorities;Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills demonstrating a detailed and efficient work style;Ability to establish goals and objectives with designated timeframes and take accountability for successful execution with minimal supervision;High level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company’s core values, a respectful work environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct;Demonstrated ability to understand and work well in a diverse and multi-cultural environment;Demonstrates Sinopec Canada’s key competencies including proven ability to drive the business, work together, and lead effectively.QualificationsCompletion of Bachelor of Science in Engineering5-10 years of Oil and Gas related experience, with at least 2+ years in Production EngineeringExperience in sweet and sour oil and gas facility operationsP.Eng. or E.I.T (APEGA) member in good standingMust be legally entitled to work in Canada.Come work with us!If you are looking for meaningful new challenges and have a solutions-oriented attitude, we want to hear from you.
