The Engineer, Production will serve as an integral member of the operations team with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Ensure production at Seneca’s properties in Midway-Sunset, Lost Hills, and Coalinga Fields are operating at maximum efficiency with optimum cost effectiveness and comply with internal policy, federal and state regulations
Develop and implement thermal recovery strategies for SJV heavy oil assets in conversation with Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, Facilities, and Operations groups
Day-to-day engineering tasks at operated properties, including but not limited to the following:
workover recommendations and programs
completion programs and supervision
Collaborate with other company stakeholders in a team environment
Ensure UIC projects are in compliance with DOGGR regulations
Assist with the review of potential acquisitions as they arise
Project invoice review, coding, and approval
Mentor junior level engineers
Learns, promotes and supports Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures in order to achieve environmental, health and safety excellence and ensuring that staff are taking a proactive leadership role in managing EHSQ for assigned areas of responsibility
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six (6) years combined production and reservoir engineering experience in onshore thermal recovery operations is required. Candidates with ten (10) or more years of combined production and reservoir engineering experience in onshore thermal recovery operations highly preferred.
Expertise with industry standard software systems, including WellView, OFM, Theta, and Aries required
Successful candidate must possess well developed interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees across the organization
Self-motivation and attention to detail is required
Strong computer and presentation skills are required
Knowledge of standard accounting procedures and practices highly preferred
This position will require time both in an office and field environment. The candidate must be able to work long periods sitting, long periods using a computer and looking at a computer monitor. Some field work will be required in which the successful candidate must have the ability to navigate unstable and uneven terrain, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.
The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America with a valid driver's license with no restrictions to operate a company vehicle.
