Overview:
 
 
 

The successful candidate will be located in Houston, TX-and responsible for providing production engineering support to Marathon-s Bakken asset. The position requires interfacing with Bakken team members located in Houston along with-Bakken field and office employees, contractors, workover rig personnel, and vendors to optimize production in a safe and environmentally sound manner. -Effective teamwork is required to streamline business process.

Due to the projected activity level in this area, the candidate must be highly motivated and willing to independently develop and provide solutions including incorporating new technology to advance company profitability.-- The position is fast-paced with a high level of responsibility and is technically rewarding.- The successful candidate will be located in Houston, TX-but expected to travel periodically to field locations in Dickinson, Dunn Center, and New Town, ND.

Responsibilities:
 
 

Monitor production performance and recommend activities to maintain and increase rates including design and recommendation for alternate and more efficient artificial lift methods and downhole equipment designs.
Interact with other team members, field personnel, workover rig employees, vendors, and other assets in a manner that will help build respect and achieve team and company goals.
Work to enhance the operation's safety and environmental record. -Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and plans along with federal, state and local regulations.
Schedule, write procedures for, secure WBS authority, and coordinate day-to-day workover activities (post-frac capital work, initial artificial lift designs, and remedial well work)
Be proactive with continuous learning in all areas, especially emerging technology.
Contribute to the expense and capital project budget preparation, and expense tracking/optimization including periodic look-back presentations for management.
Assist with record keeping in areas such as well work histories and wellbore diagrams.
Collaborate with field operators, engineers and production supervisors to share ideas and generate solutions.
Knowledge of Marathon-s policies and procedures, especially with production reporting, environmental and safety issues and measurement and production site security procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
 
 
Education:------------ Petroleum, or equivalent, engineering degree
Experience:-----------10 to-20 years of engineering experience is preferred but not required
Communication:- Excellent oral and written communications, teamwork, planning & organizational skills.-
Computer:----------- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products including: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Travel:------------------- 20% travel to field locations
