EGC is an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company whose growth strategy emphasizes acquisitions, enhanced by its value-added organic drilling program. The company's properties are located in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico waters and the Gulf Coast onshore.The Staff Production Engineer will use their experience and skills to enhance asset value through the optimization of individual well performance, participation in team collaboration activities, generation of capital/expense workover AFE’s, optimization of artificial lift/stimulation practices, and provide operations engineering support for the field operations team. This applicant will report to the Production Engineering Supervisor.Responsible for day-to-day production optimization and surveillance of all assigned properties.Monitor well tests and production curves, plan and initiate well work to maintain and improve production.Interact daily with production personnel as required.Interact with supervising production engineer and field production manager as required.Understands gaslift system optimization and nodal analysis.Identify, plan and assist with execution of remedial maintenance and workover recommendations.Development of AFE’s and cost estimates for project economics and budget approval.Assists in providing on-site well work supervision as required.Work closely with land, reservoir, regulatory, and geology (asset team) as required in planning and executing opportunities.Ensure safety, scope and costs are managed for all projects.Other duties as assignedBachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related Engineering discipline.2 - 5 years of solid oil and gas industry experience.Possess familiarity with drilling, completions and production operations.Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory laws and regulations.Some technical and operational supervision capacity to include coil tubing, wireline, acidizing, gaslift, log analysis.Capable of analyzing and providing solutions to wellbore mechanical problems.Team player, capable of working effectively and willingly within a team environment.Ability to work independently and self motivated. Perform multiple tasks in limited time frames.Possess problem solving and decision-making skills.Proactive attitude and a focus on safe work practices; learn, implement and follow Energy XXI’s HS&E; standards.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Be proficient with personal computers and spreadsheet software. Basic computer skills.Willingness and ability to travel in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.Job Type: Full-time
