Asset Management is a growing division within the OpsMobil Group providing efficient outsourced production operations management for E&P; companies. The Asset Management division has recently secured a number of long term contracts throughout Western Canada and we are currently expanding our team.
Reporting to the Director, Production Operations; the Production Engineer is an integral part of the Field Operations team providing technical support and onsite analysis on a well by well basis in an effort to assist the team in achieving budget defined field production targets. In addition to production monitoring, the role is also involved in artificial lift, well optimization, well intervention design & execution, facilities & gathering system optimization and program/project controls. The Production Engineer is an entry level role on the Management career path into Program Management, Operations or a Technical department focused on Upstream Oil & Gas production.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Production monitoring and evaluation of field wells
Technical data collection and analysis in an effort to achieve production targets
Administrate the field data capture program
Daily, weekly and monthly reporting in all areas of Production Operations
Cost estimating, budgeting, reporting, and analysis in an effort to achieve unit cost metrics
Maintenance all records in accordance with the document & program control standards
Assist the field & plant operations personnel in day to day activities
Liaise with the central control room to assist in the coordination and prioritization of daily field activities
Reinforce safety, quality, and environmental awareness through frequent job observations
Interfacing with working interest partners, service companies, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications and Education
Overall understanding of the Oil and Gas production industry
Ability to read & understand technical documents including contracts, standards, procedures, codes of practice, subcontracts, technical drawings
Understanding of Estimating & Project Management theories, methodologies and industry practices
Familiarity with CSA Standards, ABSA, CWB, OH&S;, ASRD and industry standards and practices
Understanding project management, operational and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications and Education
A graduate from an Accredited Engineering Program (preferably Petroleum or Oil/Gas Major) with 3 to 5 years experience and active as an EIT or P.Eng
A certificate from a recognized project management educational institute is an asset
Clean class 5 driver's’ license
Entry level role to the Project Management / Operations Management career development path
Candidate must have demonstrated a desire to pursue a career in production project management
Detail-oriented, organized, problem-solver, time management, great communication skills.
Able to work in a dynamic team environment and under tight deadlines.
Work schedule will be fifteen (15) days on / 13 days off, including two (2) travel days.
Hours of work are ten (10) hours per shift.
