Development and Production International (DPI) is responsible for Statoil’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments in all countries outside Norway and US. DPI’s ambition is to ensure industry-leading safety and security performance in all our operations and partner-operated fields, while maximising value from producing fields. DPI oversees business and operations in 17 countries accross six continents. Key development projects are found in Angola, Brazil, Canada, UKCS and Tanzania. Angola produced 206,000 boe/d in 2014 which equals to around 10% of Statoil’s total production. This is the highest oil production in any one country outside Norway.
Perform accurate geological evaluation and reservoir characterization on (pre-salt) carbonate reservoirs and deliver to reservoir modelling team in timely manner.
Provide in depth knowledge on carbonate sedimentology, stratigraphy and diagenesis.
Perform core description and facies and depositional environment interpretation.
Perform well log correlation and carbonate petrography.
Identify main heterogeneities to flow by integrating all available data.
Establish sedimentological concepts as input to reservoir modelling.
Guiding seismic interpretation and data integration on carbonate reservoirs.
Be involved in location, planning and optimization of appraisal and development wells in carbonate reservoirs.
Mentor junior staff on carbonate geology.
LOCAL POSITION / LOCAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Minimum 5-10 years experience as a geologist focusing on carbonate reservoirs.
Pre-salt carbonate reservoirs is preferred.
Master degree or equivalent.
Experience in pre-salt carbonate reservoirs.
Fluency in written and spoken technical English.
Proficient in Openworks and UNIX/LINUX environment.
Act as a role model for the Statoil values.
Ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, area of responsibility and meet tight deadlines.
Curious and ability to share knowledge.
Creative, flexible and adaptable.
