Job Description"Contribute to continuous improvement in the safety of BHP well plans, consistent with the goal of zero harm to people and environment. Promote safety in all work environments and across the broader geoscience community, ensuring activities are undertaken in a safe manner in line with petroleum policies and group GLD’s (Our Requirements). Reporting to the Pore Pressure Manager, will lead and manage deliver safe and reliable PPFG and Geomechanics analysis by providing predrill regional and well interpretation, operations well support and post well analysis integration for all Conventional Petroleum wells. Provide real time monitoring for the drilling of all conventional wells in conjunction and as agreed with the Geological Operations team. Develop and work in synergy with the Geohazards Operation team by providing reliable and consistent geological risk assessment to stakeholders. In conjunction with Pore Pressure Manager and Central Functions, ensure technical oversight; geomechanical assurance to be provided by the Geoscience function; pragmatically employ technology. Develop and maintain Integrated Pore Pressure, Fracture Gradients and Well Bore Stability analysis for all conventional opportunities/development consistent with subsurface team interpretations and understandings. Develop effective working relationship within the overall Operations team; ensure consistency across Operations teams to provide effective and high standard deliverables and communications. Develop effective network within BHP – focusing on interfaces with Drilling, Geological Operations, Exploration, Appraisal, Production, Central Functions and other disciplines. Support Conventional Petroleum by developing effective network with JV partners, regulatory agencies and technical service providers to ensure expedited support / approvals, as necessary. Develop and maintain employees’ professional and technical expertise by helping pore pressure manager on providing challenging work assignments, effective coaching, formal training as required and mentoring. Follow company’s best practices. If applicable, contribute and advise in seismic geophysical data and interpretation; seismic velocities, seismic processing, seismic facies characterization, seismic interpretation, and seismic analysis and inversion. "Job Requirements Master’s Degree or higher in relevant geoscience disciplineMinimum 10 years of experience in the industry.Minimum 5 years of experience with PPFG and Well Bore Stability analysisDeepwater well planning and executionProject work within a multidisciplinary teamAdvanced interpretation and analysis of a broad range of geology, geophysical and geotechnical datasets.Strong understanding of: drilling practices and well design; field development planning; offshore surveying & site investigation methodologies & technologies.Work experience as a geophysicist in the upstream petroleum industryExcellent verbal & written communicator.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:PPFG: 5 years (Required)Oil and Gas: 10 years (Required)Education:Master's (Required)
