Description

We are now searching for an experienced and innovative specialist for the position as Petrophysicist for our Clients Stavanger office. For the right candidate, this is a great opportunity to take on an important role to further develop and position our Client as a trusted and value adding non operating partner.

The Petrophysicist reports to the Technical Manager for Norway. In this role you will have extensive exposure within our Clients broader organisation, and will be a key influencer within all areas pertaining to evaluating and developing subsurface potentials. The ideal candidate for the position as Petrophysicist will present a good combination of the following:

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Evaluation of well data acquisition proposals from operator in line with well and business objectives
  • Liaise and work with operator on core, log and LWD data acquisition
  • Deliverance of post well standard interpretation
  • Management of core and fluid analysis programs
  • Populate and maintaining well databases
  • Partner liaison on relevant licence committees
  • Good understanding and insights into Norwegian regulatory requirements

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
  • Well developed skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Able to convert theory and concepts to practice
  • Strong analytics, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Open minded and able to transfer negative and positive feedbacks to actions
  • Well-developed presentation skills, to individualsĀ  and groups
  • Ability to challenge and develop best practise and operational processes across the entire value chain

EDUCATION

  • Higher education, at a Bachelor or Masters level, preferably in engineering/process or the geosciences
  • Relevant industry or management experience can compensate for less specialisation in higher education
