ConocoPhillips Norway is looking for a highly competent and ambitious Petrophysicist in the Greater Ekofisk Area (GEA) Development Organization
Petrophysical evaluation of reservoirs
Accountability & End Result
Deliver petrophysical technical products to the BU
Assigned roles, responsibilities, procedures and other
Identify, recommend and deliver systematic studies utilizing the existing petrophysical database to advance our understanding of the rock and fluid properties in the reservoir and overburden of the Norway operated fields (historical and current focus is on the Ekofisk and Eldfisk chalk fields)
Deliver advanced petrophysical analysis in support of building and maintaining full field models for development of existing fields, and for new field developments
Act as main point of contact in Norway Subsurface organization for petrophysical technical studies or requests from COP staff, partners, authorities or other 3rd parties
Collaborate with Norway Subsurface teams to justify and gain approval for additional petrophysical data acquisition in the ongoing well operations programs
Interface with COP Subsurface Technology and industry to identify new technologies to advance our reservoir and overburden characterizations
Provide guidance and steering to ongoing BU efforts toward continuous improvement of petrophysical data management
Mentorship and dissemination of petrophysical skills and reservoir / overburden knowledge to the Norway Subsurface staff
BSc degree or equivalent in Geosciences or Petroleum Engineering;
10+ years hands on petrophysical analysis experience
Track record of delivering insightful, value-adding studies of petrophysical data for improvement of subsurface rock and fluid characterization (reservoir and overburden).
Hands on experience with petrophysical analysis of chalk reservoirs.
Capability to oversee and direct routine and special core analysis programs, and integrate results into characterization products.
Demonstrated petrophysical work experience across a variety of rock types and settings.
Experience integrating a broad variety of open and cased hole petrophysical data types toward characterization products.
Proficiency with working and extracting value from large petrophysical databases.
Familiarity with petrophysical data management best practices.
Effective skills in mentoring and knowledge sharing
