Primary Job Function ExxonMobil is interested in finding outstanding petrophysicists with a strong background in formation evaluation and the earth sciences. Specifically, we are looking for an experienced professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Job Role Responsibilities A Petrophysicist at ExxonMobil can expect to solve a wide range of petrophysical and geologic problems in a variety of exploration, development and production settings.  ExxonMobil Petrophysicists are expected to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

Formation Evaluation program planning, procurement and execution, including protocol development and (typically  remote) Quality Assurance Quality Control of drilling, coring, logging at testing operations
Mudlog interpretation and integration
Routine Logging While Drilling and Wireline log data corrections, alignment, editing and splicing
Forward and inverse log modeling
Basic and advanced / integrated petrophysical model development and application, using a wide variety of log and core data types
Shale / clay volume, net-to-gross, pore- and hydrocarbon pore-volume estimations
Shaly sand, thin-bed, image log, and multi-mineral analyses
Pressure data analyses (e.g., Free Water Level determination, compartmentalization analysis, fluid gradient analyses)
Porosity-permeability and capillary pressure modeling / prediction
Fluid type identification and characterization 
Multi-well analyses supporting region-, basin-, and field-scale prospectivity assessments
Petrofacies / “electrofacies” analysis
Log-core-test data integration / calibration 
Log-seismic data integration
Uni- and multi-variate statistical analyses
Geosteering – planning and operations support
Oral presentations and written reports
Workflow / process model enhancements
Mentoring of less experienced staff

Job Requirements
BA/BS, MA/MS and/or PhD in Geology or Geophysics (or related fields)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in applied petrophysics
Strong analytical background and skills
Demonstrated leadership, adaptability, and ability to work in a multi-functional team
Effective communication skills, with a commitment to high safety and ethical standards

Preference will be given to candidates with:

Significant production experience
Significant experience and advanced expertise in unconventional environments, carbonate and complex mineralogy environments, and/or geosteering applications
Experience in developing basin-wide data collection programs 
Experience stewarding core analysis programs
