Job Summary
Anadarko is looking for a technically strong, creative, innovative, and motivated Petrophysicist to join our North American Onshore Exploration Team in The Woodlands, TX. The role requires basin-wide to prospect level analysis and seamless integration in a multi-disciplined exploration team to generate and refine investment opportunities. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of petrophysical applications for the oil and gas industry. This includes a strong geologic background in petroleum system definition across multiple US onshore basins with a preference for a strong understanding of unconventional and tight reservoir systems. Candidate must have exceptional communication skills and business acumen, be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team, and exhibit integrity, trust and servant leadership.
Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of relevant experience in petrophysical evaluation, unconventional or tight reservoir experience required
Must have a thorough knowledge of petrophysical applications for the oil and gas industry
Able to integrate large, multi-vintage, diverse data sets
Multi-basin experience in both clastic and carbonate reservoirs
Solid technical foundation in geotechnical and petroleum system concepts
Must have excellent communication skills, business acumen, integrity, and servant leadership
Must be able to work and thrive in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities
Provide expertise in data analysis and interpretations from downhole data to quantify rock, fluid, and reservoir properties
Integrate core, production, and historical data types to generate high-quality interpretations
Have broad industry knowledge of calibration procedures, wireline tool responses, log analysis, QC and integration of data from multiple sources
Prepare presentations and effectively communicate results, interpretations, and ideas in the proper geologic and commercial framework
Technically manage, prioritize, and advance projects
Perform other related duties as assigned
Education
Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering, or Master’s or PhD Degree in Geology, or related field
Relocation
This position may be eligible for relocation.
Travel Requirements
Travel will be required up to 10%.
Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
