The Production Petrophysicist for Interpretation and Evaluation Services (IES) is responsible for providing timely and accurate log data processing and interpretation with data acquired in cased and open hole; and discussing and delivering the results to the client.  Additionally, the applicant may be responsible for leading a team of analysts, ensuring proper distribution of workload, compliance with company quality control procedures, and some supervisory duties.

A Production Petrophysicist is also expected to represent to client the IES capabilities and perform technical sales of these services.

Below is a sample list of processing and Interpretations that shall be expected from a Production Petrophysicist:

  • Cased hole data quality check and control.
  • Cement bond log interpretation using various technologies available in the industry.
  • Saturation log processing using various techniques and instruments within the organization. It is also expected that good knowledge and awareness of shall be maintained for technological developments within the industry.
  • Open hole data regeneration using offset modelling and neural network using various tools and techniques.
  • Advanced formation analysis for reservoir properties using various tools and techniques.
  • Production logging interpretation either using standard or array sensors.
  • Pipe Integrity assessment and interpretation using Secureview suite of services and 3rd party services.
  • Perforation modelling and recommendations based on reservoir data.
  • Basic knowledge of unique cased hole services with Weatherford
  • Basic openhole data volumetric interpretation

4DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)

4.1Work in a safe manner, both while in the office and outside. Complete all QHSE training and active participation and contribution in safety meetings and drills

4.2Utilize understanding of Cased hole logging disciplines to deliver accurate and quality controlled processed and interpreted results independently or with assistance from senior employees in complex or high priority tasks requiring accuracy and adherence to prescribed testing, analysis and design.

4.3Writing and/or assisting in technical reports or documents for internal and/or external distribution.

4.4Develops internal network for knowledge sharing within the company, participates in local technology watch or professional events

4.5Assist in software development, testing and troubleshooting.

4.6Wherever needed, develop codes/scripts/workflows that may assist in performing simple computation/tasks which are not available otherwise.

4.7Analyze possible client, product, or research solutions using standard procedures in order to recommend ideas or changes.

4.8Interacts with internal and external clients, with moderate supervision, in a professional and courteous manner.

4.9Communicates general information within the team, to the client or to senior employees to coordinate and update project tasks, striving for consistent quality.

4.10Contributes to local technical strategy through awareness and support of organization processes and industry trends.

4.11Contributes to project teams, recommends ideas, changes, or solutions to problems, and pursues opportunities for personal or team growth.
