Senior Petrophysicist Advisor

Essential Job Duties
The Senior Petrophysicist Advisor will be tasked to provide detailed well log analysis for Diamondback’s asset appraisal and development, Permian Basin assessment, and any A&D; efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to generate and implement modern petrophysical workflows for unconventional and conventional reservoirs. The candidate should be highly skilled in data acquisition management, tool theory/specifications/limitations, and core analysis. Finally, the candidate will be an adviser to senior management for all levels of formation evaluation.
Act as the Petrophysical discipline expert for Diamondback Energy.
Advise on formation evaluation for all of Diamondbacks conventional and unconventional projects.
Properly build and implement petrophysical workflows that elicit rock properties to inform volumetric evaluations and resource characterization.
Skilled in data program recommendations, coordination, and implementation. This may require some field visits to oversee high resolution, multi-run, wireline logging and coring projects.
Provide sound integration of logs to core, production data, and reservoir data.
Provide all asset teams with petrophysical support and collaborate with them to high-grade targets that will deliver high return on investment.
Be responsible for basin-wide coverage of petrophysical needs.
Assist in basin-wide assessment efforts by generating and presenting high-quality interpretations and recommendations for business development to senior management.
Proven petrophysicist with exceptional technical and people skills. Must demonstrate track record of performance.
Expertise in petrophysical techniques and workflows with deep understanding of current technologies to provide guidance to team.
Extensive experience in unconventional petrophysical assessment.
Ability to communicate technical data through the preparation and presentation of clear, concise, and persuasive oral/written opinions, reports, and presentations.
Have knowledge of other aspects of the business inclusive of drilling, completions, operations, reservoir, land, and regulatory to help assist team to find efficiencies and foster better communication company-wide.
Petrophysical workstation experience, Interactive Petrophysics strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to introduce innovative and sound solutions that add the most value to the company.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in a broad spectrum of settings, especially being able to tailor communication to a specific audience.
Self-driven and results oriented individual that can set clear and achievable expectations for their individual performance.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership across multiple disciplines through managing data acquisition programs.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience as a petrophysicist is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience/Engineering/Mathematics is required. Master’s degree in any of the previous subject matter is desired.
Prior, recent experience in the Permian Basin is required.
Resource play experience is required.
Be actively involved with professional affiliations, committees and frequent contributor to industry publications.
