This position is open to all applicants.
Analyzing engineering data, evaluating options, formulating strategies, and recommending actions to maximize the value of the state's oil and gas resources;
Advise and assist top level DNR Directors and Commissioners in creating, defining, and shaping oil and gas policy for the State;
Review unitization applications and plans of exploration and development;
Determine tract allocations;
Oversee reservoir simulation models;
Review well certification applications;
Prepare production forecasts;
Review proposed statutes and regulations;
Participate on various interdisciplinary teams to analyze and develop new commercial oil and natural gas opportunities;
May also be called on to provide testimony as an expert witness at hearings and in judicial proceedings.
BS or MS in petroleum engineering, or
A degree in another engineering discipline with oil and gas experience.
A minimum of 5 years (preferably 10) of subsurface experience in the oil and gas industry with at least four years of recent experience estimating reserves, forecasting production, evaluating enhanced recovery, and familiarity with computer reservoir modeling.
Must be a registered professional engineer pursuant to AS 08.48 or obtain registration within 24 months of hire.
