Position Description Saudi Aramco is embarking on a program to develop its world class unconventional resources and is seeking experienced professionals to join our Unconventional Reservoir management team. We have an immediate requirement for experienced Simulation Engineers who have experience with unconventional production mechanisms and can simulate these through a variety of models including simple analytical methods to more complex numerical simulators. Of primary interest is experience with development and production of shale and tight gas assets. Consider the opportunity to join our team and help shape the future of one of the key global unconventional resource development.As a simulation engineer in an unconventional asset you will support the team by using your experience in numerical reservoir simulation that incorporates key components of dynamic modeling that come from other subsurface disciplines. You should have experience in utilizing the results of dynamic reservoir models to provide answers to key development decisions that impacts unconventional well and field performance. You should also be very familiar with dynamic model limitations and be able to recommend on methods to improve simulation such as additional data gathering, testing, monitoring and research. Minimum Requirements Candidates are expected to meet the following minimum requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum engineering or a related science as appropriate to the required discipline. An advanced degree is preferred and will reduce prerequisite work experience stated below by one year for master degree and two years for PhD.We are targeting 15-20 years experience with at least 5-10 years in unconventional plays including shale or tight gas, with some US experience in unconventional hydrocarbon basins required. We will consider candidates with more or less experienced depending on the quality of their experience. Other desirable skills include hands-on experience in black oil, compositional and thermal simulation of Conventional and Unconventional oil and gas fields, single-well and multiple-well modeling, integration of geomechanics, production log, assisted history matching, coupling of surface network to dynamic model, proficient in the use of software such as Eclipse, Petrel RE, Rubis package, Quiklook, IHS Harmony, PVTi, and Piepsim. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to perform the following:Performs reservoir simulation work requiring application of standard and unconventional techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of engineering tasks. Design modeling strategies for single well and multiple well cases incorporating fracture information and based on the other objectives of the unconventional team.Build representative dynamic models of unconventional reservoirs, both single well and sector models to assist in developing unconventional production concepts and full field development planning.Deliver production profiles from the reservoir models, including uncertainty envelopes on those profiles.Provide risk mitigation methodologies, along with the rest of unconventional multidisciplinary team, to ensure robust delivery of the business plan. Make recommendations on well requirements and well designs for new wells based on results from reservoir simulation models. Provide input for field development plans for unconventional resource plays.Work closely with wider unconventional team in planning and conducting field studies.
