Petroleum Engineers with at least 5 years of experience are welcomed to apply for a vacancy with the leading E&P; company in Thailand, where your mandate will be to design and evaluate the number of wells needed and assess the recovery for wells to facilitate decisions for ongoing exploitation and production or abandonment of wells.
1. Field Monitoring, Management and Production Optimization
Monitors field & reservoir production performance. Integrate with Reservoir Engineer to perform reservoir pressure depletion and connectivity analysis using downhole pressure data.
Optimizes waterflood strategy and improve flooding efficiency using production data and analytical method such as Hall Plot, Decline Curve in OFM, and RPI plot. Estimates the potential of a reservoir and recommend work over and/or well services to maximize recovery. Assess the recovery per well in order to provide advice on abandonment and re-completions.
2. Drilling Operations Support
Monitors drilling campaigns & workover operations. Investigate potential problems and provide practical solutions.
Performs pore pressure prediction and support the formulation of reservoir evaluation plans. Supports well completions design by coordinating input into ESP size selection and design.
3. Planning & Forecasting
Prepares well plans in line with five year production forecast and integrate with the plans of all related functions. Provide technical support in LE and WP&B; preparation.
Integrates with Reservoir Engineer to construct reservoir depletion plan, well production matrix, perforation plan, drilling sequence, and workover schedule. Generates short term production forecasts, aligned with available budget.
4. Well testing and sampling programs
Sets up XPT/MDT, MiniDST, Well testing, sampling, production test programs and perform pressure analysis based on the data.
Performs Pressure Transient Analysis based on MDT/ MiniDST/ TST data using Ecrin software (Saphir)
Validates PVT results utilizing PVTP software (EOS), Black Oil correlation.
5. Hydrocarbon Resource Management
Supports Geologist and Geophysicist in estimating original fluids in place by deterministic and probabilistic methods.
Estimates recovery factors and reserves by analytical methods.
Hydrocarbon reserves and resource booking and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering e.g. Mechanical, Petroleum or Reservoir engineering. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
5 to 10+ years working experience as a Petroleum Engineer within the Oil and Gas industry. Oil reservoir operating experience is preferable.
Candidate must have experience in using specific software such as Mbal/Prosper/Gap/PVTP, OFM, (Ecrin) and Saphir.
Knowledge in the operation or management of a highly compartmentalized reservoir, experience in ESP design & performance evaluation, and waterflooding performance diagnosis will be an added advantage
NOTE: Thai Nationals are preferred.
