The petroleum engineer will provide oversight and guidance in the operation and maintenance of gas production and storage wells in the Battle Creek, Box Elder, and Bear Paw Basin fields. Major focus of the position is the optimization of gas production using downhole improvements and water removal technology.

Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Oversight of the operation and maintenance of high pressure natural gas production and storage wells, compressors, dehydration equipment, and related gas measurement.
Focus on the evaluation and optimization of the down hole performance of the wells
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, EPA, DEQ or NWE.
Supervision of field operations personnel
Engineer will perform all of the above in accordance with all OSHA, DOT and NorthWestern Energy safety rules, policies, and procedures
Engineer will be responsible for budgeting capital and expense items and over sight of projects to insure the projects meet company standards, budgets and time schedules.
Supervise projects and oversee contract and field operation crews
Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations
Compile and write technical reports
Requires lifting up to 25 pounds and various other physical activities in a variety of weather extremes and occasional exposure to various field hazards and chemicals
Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
B.S. Engineering degree required;
Petroleum Engineering degree and 2 years of experience in the production and gathering of low pressure gas reservoirs preferred
Demonstrated knowledge through experience or training in the operation and maintenance of gas compressors, wells, dehydration equipment, and all related equipment required
Must have demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills required to supervise field operations
Must have strong organizational and time management skills
Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
Must demonstrate a self-motivated attitude and be able to handle multiple conflicting tasks and assignments
Nature of the job requires the ability to respond to call outs, therefore the engineer is required to live within 30 minutes of the Havre gas department office
Travel and extended hours may be required
