Overall responsibility
As a petroleum engineer for Anderson Thompson, you would be working within a multi-disciplinary team, serving customers by helping to understand their well performance and optimize the development of their oil and gas fields. This position requires a high level of initiative and business development drive as we continue to grow our team and company in the US market.

Key areas of responsibility Design and execute practical workflows for reservoir characterization with a strong focus on well performance Prepare technical written materials (results, conclusions, and recommendations) for distribution to customers, or for presentation at technical conferences, workshops and trade shows Present technical talks on reservoir characterization, well performance evaluation, integration of data from multiple sources, and more to customers and at conferences / workshops Provide recommendations based on reservoir engineering findings (within larger integrated reservoir studies) to customers Support the NCS Multistage sales organization in the US by attending client meetings to promote the services provided by Anderson Thompson and providing training to the sales team on rate transient analysis and reservoir evaluation Generate new business opportunities for Anderson Thompson and NCS through your existing professional network Participate and manage all aspects of technical evaluation projects including client interactions, proposal generation and review, performing technical analysis, preparing written materials for presentation, and conducting final results review meetings with clients Prepare summary material for internal presentations to peers and executives across all of NCS’s business units and departments Integrate large data sets from multiple sources (downhole gauge data, microseismic, tracers, and more) to enhance the reservoir characterization and evaluation

Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field or relevant equivalent experience, Graduate degree preferred Minimum of 7 years of industry experience with at least 2 years of analysis of multi-stage horizontal well performance or hydraulic stimulation design and evaluation Advanced knowledge of at least one of the following: RTA, PTA, DFIT analysis, hydraulic fracture modeling and/or reserves evaluation Prior exposure to analytics software such as Spotfire or Minitab is an asset Unconventional basin experience as an operator or consultant. (e.g. Eagle Ford, Permian, SCOOP/STACK, Marcellus) Proficiency using IHS reservoir engineering software applications (RTA, DeclinePlus, Well Test). Kappa, CMG, or Eclipse experience considered an asset Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to work independently without constant supervision Ability to work in diverse teams and collaborate across multiple disciplines Willingness to accept and incorporate other’s viewpoints into their work Ability to sort through the “noise” in large datasets in order to understand the “signal” Experience and desire to grow their knowledge base in data analytics and visualization
