Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an opening for a Petroleum Economist in Houston, Texas. This role will report into the Gaffney, Cline, & Associates consultancy group

Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) is a world leading international advisory firm focused on providing integrated technical and managerial services to all sectors of the oil and gas industry. For more than 50 years GCA has provided both broad-based and detailed technical and commercial advice, focusing on results-orientated, commercially viable and practical solutions designed to meet our client's specific requirements.

GCA advises a wide range of clients in exploration, reservoir evaluation, field development and optimization, drilling and production, pipeline, refining and LNG projects throughout the world. GCA has principal offices in UK, Houston and Singapore as well as smaller offices in Buenos Aires, Dubai and Sydney. Gaffney, Cline & Associates is quickly expanding its global operations and is now seeking talented and motivated professionals to join its dynamic organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide necessary economic strategic input to multi-disciplinary projects
Valuation and evaluation of petroleum assets, commercial assessment of petroleum projects worldwide, reserves evaluations and feasibility studies
Cash flow modelling and creation of economic models
Economic and financial analysis including valuation of client’s oil and gas interests worldwide and the identification of investment opportunities
Performing economic evaluation of midstream and downstream assets
Development of analytical tools and methodologies to perform exploration portfolio evaluations
Conducting audits for major oil and gas projects
Lead critical multidisciplinary projects
Carry out analysis and present on economics thought leadership in industry forums
Contribute to business development efforts and proposal writing
Play a leading role in strategic Sovereign advisory projects as assigned


Bachelor's Degree Minimum in Economics
MS Excel
Project management skills, including budget controlling, project planning and monitoring.
Strong command of international petroleum fiscal systems, economic modeling and risk analysis for exploration and production
