Because remarkable people achieve remarkable things.  Job Description: Shell is looking for a Wells Production Engineer responsible for a full range of production engineering activities in support of producing operations within the Permian asset. The successful candidate will work with other members of the surveillance team as the primary engineering resource for production surveillance and operations support in the field area to which they are assigned, supporting increased production, minimal downtime, and Goal Zero HSE performance. Key role responsibilities include:Daily production surveillance:Align priorities between Surface/Subsurface and Operations for a field areaParticipate in Daily Production calls with operationsMonitor and assess the production performance of a large portfolio of wells and maintain the Integrated Production System Capacity curve for those wellsMonitor and assess the artificial lift performance with a focus on reliability Troubleshoot downtimeOptimize production and identify opportunities to improve production or reduce costMonitor saltwater disposal well performance for injectivity trends or system optimizationsPrepare for and participate in asset WRFM activitiesProvide leadership and assist in prioritizing the work for a field areaEvaluate new well performance for key production indicators and opportunities to better manage ramp-up or sand productionMaintain awareness of opportunity volumes and locked in potential volumes for field areaSupport development of exception based surveillance workflowsDelivery of artificial lift solutions and well interventionsIdentify candidates for artificial lift (AL) installationDeliver Well Service Requests (WSRs) and AL designs for wells within field areaMonitor job execution for deviations from plan or learnings from executionIdentify/Diagnose AL failure using Root cause failure analysis and share learningsSupport aligned AL designs through QA/QC of team designsSupport delivery of the well intervention cost staircaseSupport updates to the AL design strategy for the asset to increase recovery efficiency and/or runtimeEvaluate partner documents (e.g. AFEs) for design evolution and industry best practicesWell Integrity Management (WIM) Calculate and monitor well performance within operating envelope and flag potential deviationsDefine and Monitor SWD operations relative to the design envelopePlan and execute well integrity related testing and work resolution to well integrity challenges Support field area chemical utilization and managementIdentify interwellbore communication (IWC) risks and mitigate those risks through well intervention activity or operational interventions.Support Plug & Abandon (P&A;) activitiesDevelopment Planning Support the development PT in forecasting new well production and infrastructure constraints for a field areaProvide inputs to field development plan based on operational knowledgeParticipate in weekly development team meetings to share learningsSupport Integrated Activity Planning through detailed analysis of changes and impacts thereofSupport commercial activity within the field area to maximize deal value for Shell Job Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experienceOnshore oil production background with experience in field operations is preferred.Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in related engineering discipline or equivalent experience.Skill in Well, Reservoir, and Facilities Management Skill in integrated production system modeling (specifically surface infrastructure)Skill in artificial lift design and operationKnowledge level competency demonstrated for Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) techniques and methods, preferably including Causal Learning.Experience in production forecasting (e.g. Decline Curve Analysis and/or Rate Transient Analysis)Demonstrated ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams that could include operations, leadership, finance, engineering, regulatory, and others.Change Management skills, including knowledge level understanding of the Management of Change (MOC) process.Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.Self-directed individual requiring minimum supervision*LI-MA  Disclaimer: Please note: We occasionally amend or withdraw Shell jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing date.Before applying, you are advised to read our data protection policy.
