The successful applicant will perform all drilling, and well operations, and handle all geological responsibilities associated with drilling operations with minimal supervision. Perform well planning, including creating well targets data with reservoir and drilling engineers; generating well trajectories and loading the directional data; prepare geological prognosis, including but not limited to tops, cross sections and correlation panels; ensure acknowledgments of the program by other concerned parties; monitor; and geosteer all types of wells both in the office or onsite when needed. Duties & ResponsibilitiesApplicants will update all kinds of maps and grids in light of the new drilling information obtained from active wells to help optimize well objectives. Get involved with 24-hour operational activities, including tracking wells, interacting with the Geosteering Operations Center, and making critical decisions for wellbore adjustments; perform well evaluations while drilling and post-drilling, such as final correlations, maps and grids for structural, stratigraphic and fluid limits mapping; and communicate clearly with all parties involved in drilling activities. Minimum RequirementsA Bachelor’s degree in Geology is a minimum requirement.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in operational geology covering practical experience in drilling operations (including horizontal wells), coring and logging.
Familiar with the development geology field and understand all implications of operational drilling activities.
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in geosteering (with triple combo log) and real-time operations.
Broad knowledge of LWD and wireline logging technologies and applications.
Familiarity with LWD or wireline borehole image interpretation.
Familiar with rig operations and vendor logging systems.
Familiarity with applications that are used for conducting reservoir development studies with experience in drilling operation applications (mapping, correlation, well planning, etc.).
Ability to make critical decisions and solve problems.
Ability to work in multidiscipline teams.
English language fluency with the capability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Excellent presentation skills.
