We are seeking an Operations Geologist to add to our team of highly skilled professionals. This position is responsible for supporting exploration and business development efforts by developing field maps and incorporating relevant competitor analysis in order to identify new well locations.
Conduct with core values of honesty and integrity, health and safety, environmental stewardship and high performance.
Identify and progress well programs that test new reservoirs/field extensions/play extensions.
Identify and develop new plays, concepts and leads on and around existing acreage and in the basin.
Create staking packages and geologic prognoses for horizontal wells.
Draft and update geologic prognoses for all approved drilling wells.
Coordinate well permitting and drilling location preparation in cooperation with land, regulatory, drilling and facilities groups
Provide technical support and quality oversight for wellsite geology processes, including mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline logging, coring and directional drilling in a multi-rig environment.
Oversee geosteering to ensure proper placement of wellbore within a specific target.
Maintain open communication with operations teams during horizontal drilling operations.
Maintain a daily reporting system, monitoring and interpretation of data for well operations and data gathering
Create detailed geologic & reservoir maps to facilitate field development
Provide geologic & reservoir displays & maps for corporate presentations
Operate and enforce safety practices within the operation complying with company policies, state and federal regulations
Minimum of 7 years of oil and gas operations experience including horizonal well selection, execution, evaluation and drilling required.
Minimum of 5 years of Marcellus and Utica experience preferred.
B.S in Geology (or equivalent) required. Master's degree in Geology preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with standards and practices associated with petroleum engineering, drilling, completions, O&G operations and regulatory requirements.
Able to identify, prioritize and high-grade geologic prospects.
Knowledge of horizontal drilling, LWD/MWD, and wireline logging technologies and applications.
