$145,000 - $165,000 a yearOur clientis interested in finding outstanding operations geoscientists with a strong background in drill well planning and execution and the earth sciences. Specifically, they are looking for an experienced professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.Successful candidates will be expected to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:Primary Geoscience interface with Drilling Rig Supervisors / Superintendents and other rig and venture personnel during drilling operationsPrimary Geoscience interface with 3rd party geoscience service providers (e.g. mud logging, Logging While Drilling (LWD), Wireline (WL), core handling/processing)Generate Daily Geologic ReportPrepare pressure surveillance/pressure hunt protocols, rotation schedules (if applicable), communications and reporting protocols, data management plansSteward change management requirements for deviations from planDevelop operational decision treesDescribe cuttings samples/core chips/shows while drillingSummarize relevant mud logging, LWD/WL logging, and coring activitiesQuality control and distribute daily deliverables from 3rd party geoscience contractorsQuality control and post daily reports, log plots, and digital data to static file server for BU, partner, & government access prior to daily reporting cutoffInventory mud logging consumables weekly and confirm that gas calibrations are kept current (generally performed weekly)Inventory and inspect (tool sketches, ID, OD, weight, etc.) all WL tools prior to logging jobsMaintain Composite Log while drilling for timely inclusion in End of Well ReportMaintain daily activity log to ensure continuity with opposite tour and back-to-backQuality control of data (logging, mud logging, coring, directional control)Provide ongoing assessment of the impacts of operations on dataLogging at testing operationsMudlog interpretation and integrationGeosteering – planning and operations supportVerbal presentations and written reportsWorkflow / process model enhancementsMentoring of less experienced staffSupervise / coordinate wellsite geologistsJob RequirementsBA/BS, MA/MS and/or PhD in Geology or Geophysics (or related fields)Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in operations including significant rig based exposureStrong analytical as well as operational background and skillsDemonstrated leadership, adaptability, and ability to work in a multi-functional teamEffective communication skills, with a commitment to high safety and ethical standardsAbility to undertake rotational or expatriate assignmentsPreference will be given to candidates with:Significant experience from exploration to productionSignificant experience in operations management, pressure surveillance and geosteering applicationsExperience in multi rig operationsJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $145,000.00 to $165,000.00 /year
