Arrow Energy is an integrated coal seam gas (CSG) company that explores and develops gas fields, produces and sells CSG and generates electricity.
Arrow produces CSG from fields in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland and the Bowen Basin in central Queensland. We have been safely and sustainably developing CSG since 2000 and supplying it commercially since 2004.
We own one of Queensland's largest power stations, Braemar 2 near Dalby, and we have interests in two others, giving us enough generation capacity to power around 800,000 homes.
On 1 December 2017, Arrow agreed one of the largest gas supply deals on Australia’s east coast, to bring to market our significant gas reserves in the Surat Basin.

Reporting to Geology Discipline Lead , your scope of work will cover the Operations Geology input to three key business process supporting the supply of coal seam gas (CSG) from Arrow’s assets to its Domestic Gas business and planned upstream developments.
In addition you will:
Real time monitoring and decision making for sub-surface drilling activities;
Support the preparation of well proposals;
Conduit between the FEDM subsurface teams and the drilling contractors;
Actively monitor, trouble shoot, interpret, assure and advise on all MWD and LWD data that is streaming live to the Brisbane Hub;
Conduct well placement and geo-steering and direct drilling contractors on performance and improvements with accordance to subsurface team's requirements;
Coordinate operations geology with relevant drilling, site operations and contract personnel;
Work closely with Drilling, Geological and Reservoir Engineering personnel to ensure successful planning and execution of production tests and pilot production programs; and
Provide technical input and report writing for end of well and government requirements.
To be successful in the role, you will:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science;
Demonstrated experience working as a Geologist within the Petroleum industry – CSG experience preferred;
Demonstrated competency using industry standard Geological software;
Proven knowledge of Petroleum engineering in field development planning, well performance optimisations, reservoir management, well completions and interventions, well testing and nodal analysis; and
Exposure to other discipline tasks such as Operations, Drilling, Reservoir engineering, Petrophysics, and Geophysics.
Have a flexible approach in working hours to meet varying workloads and operational demands.
Experience contributing to and or leading multi-disciplinary projects and studies through to completion.
