Description

Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Facilities/Production Operations Engineer. This is a field based position located at our Cambridge, OH field office and reports to the Operations Engineering Supervisor. The Facilities/Production Operations Engineer performs all conventional aspects of engineering work and requires the individual to be well rounded and experienced in the various areas of facilities and production operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide technical support between corporate engineering and field operations
Identify and lead facilities and production projects to increase economic indicators (NAV, NPV, IRR, etc.)
Provide technical support in the field and provide feedback to corporate to optimize facilities designs
Optimize well production through equipment usage monitoring and coordination with production engineering
Resolve existing or potential complex challenges by communicating with all stakeholders
Monitor and act on Key Performance Indicators (Costs, Cycle Time, TRIR, etc.)
Track KPIs against peers through competitive benchmarking
Develop Ascent’s Best Management Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
Interface with service companies and regulatory agencies
60% field office/40% field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
Well versed in unconventional asset development
Thorough knowledge of facilities equipment design, specs, codes, and industry standards
Experience with wet gas and dry gas production and the associated production methods
Working knowledge of all areas of operations (construction/drilling/completions/production/facilities)
Self-starting employee with a strong ability to identify value-adding projects
Detail orientated with a high level of accuracy
Ability to foster high level of confidence and reliability in thought processes and results
Professional and polished demeanor
Ability to work directly with all levels of personnel, including field staff and top management
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to handle multiple projects against assigned deadlines
Demonstrated maturity in handling confidential data

Coaching and influential leadership skills
Preferred:
Knowledge/experience with SimOps
Previous experience with an operator field-based rotation
Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering
3-5 years of professional oil and gas exploration and production experience
Preferred:
Engineer-in-Training certification
PE certification
PMP certification
MBA
