Our client has partnered with Ethix to recruit an Operations Engineer for their privately-owned oil & gas exploration & production business. Our client has operations across Alberta and has been operating since 2015.Our client has an opportunity for an Operations Engineer/Technician. This position is based in the Leduc/Devon AB area, reporting to the Operations Manager. The Operations Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to the field-based staff. Candidates must live within 30 min of Leduc/Devon, have 5+ years of relevant industry experience and a commitment to safety.Primary ResponsibilitiesAct as a liaison between Calgary based Engineers and field Operations personnel.Monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting of plant, field and pipeline operations.Well and facility production and throughput optimization and development/execution of operating cost saving initiativesSupport facility operations and maintenance departmentsOversee all artificial lift (beam pump, electrical submersible pump, PCP) performance and provide recommendations for improved performance.Provide technical expertise to work order and management of change (MOC) processes. Take a lead role in development and execution of all MOC’s.Coordinate and schedule regular well and facility review meetings with Field OperationsParticipate and support ERP related activities.Maintain technical reference documentation and engineering drawings.Active participation in plant and field planning, scheduling and budgeting processes.Provide technical input to Calgary-based projects.Preferred Education/Experience RequirementsP.Eng (although EIT’s and CET’s will be considered) in good standingExperience in sweet and sour oil and gas facility operations that includes: oil treating, vapor recovery, separation, measurement, dehydration and compression are required;Experience in sweet and sour oil and gas well operations that includes a working knowledge of all types of artificial lift design (specifically ESP’s and rod pumping) and installationMeasurement, SCADA and PVR expertise is required;Organized team player that can work in a busy environmentGood communication skills both verbal and writtenGood attention to detail requiredAble to work efficiently with minimal supervision.Understanding of AER business rules, practices and applicable interim directives and directives to support key job responsibilities5+ years previous industry experienceWhat’s on offerOur client will provide the successful candidate with a generous compensation package that is commensurate with the successful candidate’s abilities and experience.
