Senior Reservoir Engineer
Responsibilities
Provides reservoir engineering support and technical advice to the asset, exploration, project and operations teams, including reservoir and fluid characterization, agreed technical programmes and opportunity evaluation. Delivers dynamic modelling for E&P; activities. Provides wells and planning operational support. Involved in commercially or technically significant projects and/or complex, non-routine assignments which require the application of considerable technical expertise to increase the profitability of the business Takes a lead role in many of these activities and projects and/or supervisors and coordinates the activities of other team members.
Qualifications
Monitoring production and injection performance on existing fields to optimize production and maximize recovery
Performing well test analysis
Performing reservoir simulation modelling/studies and generating production forecasts
Reserves reporting
Economic analysis
Technical input/support to new field development planning
Project management of outsourced reservoir engineering studies
Planning and execution of technical programmes in conjunction with drilling/well operations and geoscientists
Technical input to appraisal and field development programmes
Dynamic STOIIP and GIIP validation / calculation
Dynamic modelling studies
Opportunity appraisal
Prepare relevant parts of well programmes in partnership with geologists, geophysicists and drilling e.g. preparing well paths
Prepare and present material as required internally and to third parties e.g. Regulator/JV partners
Assessing subsurface risk for opportunities
Evaluation of new business opportunities
Take a lead role in many of these activities/projects and/or supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other team members
Master of Science in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant working experience
Experienced and skilled in license work
Previous experience in a similar role within a challenging and operating environment
Personal skills
Proven ability to undertake important projects and/or highly complex assignments/tasks requiring the application of highly-developed technical skills and knowledge without supervision
Strong understanding of fluid dynamic behaviour
Understanding of reservoir drive mechanisms
User of dynamic modelling packages (preferably Petrel-RE/Eclipse/PETEX Suite)
Strong communication / presentation/ writing skills
Good commercial awareness/understanding project financing/cost control principles
Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision
Proven leadership-builder with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision
