Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Geologist with 5 - 10 years of environmental experience to join our Austin, Texas office and become an integral member of our technical team. Key responsibilities will include providing field and office support on various projects for existing and new environmental/industrial/government clients. Woods Environment & Infrastructure Solutions division is a multi-disciplined consulting organization primarily consisting of environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Environmental Due Diligence, Environmental Remediation, and Environmental Compliance. The incumbent can look forward to projects including environmental site assessments (ESAs), remedial investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities:This person will be a member of a team providing primarily site investigation and remediation services to private industry and government clients. This position will support a wide variety of projects that include investigations, due diligence, environmental remediation, and environmental compliance. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:Initial planning, coordination, and execution of environmental tasksPerform complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved technologies and proceduresDevelop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by othersAssess the feasibility and soundness of proposed technical approaches, tests, products or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisablePreparation of technical reportsParticipate in the development of technical approachSupport the development and preparation of proposals
Skills / Qualifications
Required:Bachelors degree in Geology or related fieldKnowledge of TRRP, RCRA, and ASTM e15275+ years experience of environmental consulting experience in TexasExperience as a project or task manager on various environment related projects including Phase I and II ESAs, subsurface investigations, and on-going remediation projectsExperience reporting and conducting oversight of various field operations including soil borings, geotechnical sampling, monitoring well installation/samplingExperience leading project teamsExperience interacting with and supervising subcontractorsComputer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and excellent spreadsheet skillsGood verbal and inter-personal skillsStrong technical writing skillsDemonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skillsGood time-management skills. Ability to focus and attention to detailMust be organized and able to present verbal instructions clearly and conciselyMust be able to prepare plans and reports that are concise, simple and direct in conveying the needed information without confusion to the end user.Team player and technical contributorAble to operate within scope, schedule and budget during project implementationPreferred:Bachelors degree in GeologyState of Texas Geoscientist-in-Training or Professional GeoscientistKnowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal oil pollution prevention regulationsPrior experience on compliance projects in TexasExperience working with state, federal or municipal agencies.Prior consulting experienceOSHA HAZWOPER Trained*MONEIS*
