Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mid-Level Geologist to join our Phoenix, AZ team. The successful candidate will provide geologic support to Woods project managers responsible for delivering geotechnical and geologic projects to Woods public and private sector clients. Projects generally include transportation, mining, site characterization, flood control, dams, levees, pavements, and other civil works projects. Key ResponsibilitiesWill provide geologic support and task management and be responsible for delivering geotechnical and geologic projects (or portions thereof) to Woods Project ManagersTechnical management and direction of site investigations and preparing technical reportsProject and budget management including resource management and oversightCoordinating small project teams, including ensuring the technical quality of deliverablesCollaboration and participation in technical discussions with team membersParticipate in proposal efforts
Skills / Qualifications
MS in Geology/Earth Sciences; An emphasis in applied geology a plusArizona PG license or the ability to obtain within 6 months8 - 15 years+ relevant experienceStrong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics and local Arizona soils and geologyExperience in two or more of the following areas:Soil and rock mechanicsDrilling and field investigationsGeologic mappingStructural geologyStratigraphyMineralogyGeomorphologyGood communication, report writing and presentation skills in EnglishSuperior time management, planning and ability to interact with clientsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a teamProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility and willingness to travel to project sites, primarily in ArizonaMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
