Overview:
 
Chevron's Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU) Central Area Permian CO2/Waterfloods Technical Team is seeking a Geological Technologist.  The Permian Floods Tech Team supports four diverse field operations teams (FOTs) with operations spanning West Texas and SE New Mexico.  The successful candidate will work closely with teams of earth scientists, engineers, land representatives and drilling & completions (D&C;) specialists involved in identifying, developing and executing a wide variety of projects.  The successful candidate will possess strong data management and IT/IM skills along with a background in geologic fundamentals.  This position is located in Midland, Texas.
 
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 
This role provides day-to-day and longer-term strategic project support to these FOTs, including stewardship of geologic and petrophysical data of all types/media, management of geologic systems of record, and fluency in earth science and cross-functional flood management applications across multiple platforms (incl. Petra and several MCBU specific tools).  Additional special projects may include development of new visualization or analytical tools to support Permian Floods cross-functional teams or other MCBU initiatives.  The successful candidate must be capable of handling a diverse workload and multiple tasks while working in a team environment.  The successful candidate should allocate their time to provide support to more than one team and should be capable of working independently with minimal daily supervision. 
 
Required Qualifications:
 

BS Geology or Geophysics, 2+ years of related experience

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 

BS Geology or Geophysics
5+ years of oil & gas industry experience including prior experience with Permian Basin geology
Experience creating, maintaining and editing maps and visualizations in Petra software
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environment (Petroleum Engineering, Earth Science, D&C;, Land, IT, etc.)
Experience managing geologic and petrophysical data across multiple platforms and media types
