The Manager, Petroleum Labour Market Information (PetroLMI) will be responsible for leading, mentoring and coaching team members, including assisting and supporting their career growth and development. The Manager will work closely with the Vice President, Communications & PetroLMI, to ensure the goals and the objectives of the department are met.
Oversees research and program delivery for the PetroLMI team. Mentors, coaches and sets reasonable expectations for team members while working to ensure team members and stakeholders fulfill contractual agreements
Responsible for the development and management of Labour Market Information project and product plans, creating and managing activities, deliverables and inputs with stakeholders
Ensures the PetroLMI Division’s budget and cost management initiatives are aligned with approved funding agreements
Oversees data analysis and identifies weak project areas quickly and addresses them with appropriate solutions on various projects
Ensures project budgets and cash flow management, including processing invoices, tracking payments to ensure expenditures comply with guidelines by project funders
Supports business development activities for PetroLMI by leading the proposal writing process and other related activities
Leads PetroLMI validation and consultation meetings and surveys with industry and other stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Economics, Business or related field
Project Management Designation (PMP) completed or in progress preferred
5+ years of work experience with labour market analysis or business analysis
Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research with knowledge of various research methodologies
Demonstrated experience managing a team
Experience working in and having a good understanding of the oil and industry in Canada
Experience working in a non-profit environment and/or on government proposal writing is an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
Exemplary interpersonal skills – confident in ability to build and maintain relationships
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to synthesize and present statistical information to various audiences
Good organizational skills and detail oriented
High energy, flexible and ability to take initiative
Enjoys the challenge of working in a deadline-driven environment
