This employment opportunity involves analyzing geological information while working onsite at oil, gas and geothermal drilling locations in California, Nevada and worldwide. The logging geologist is responsible for using geologic, chromatographic, and drilling data to construct a stratigraphic representation (log) of borehole geology, and in addition, maintain and occasionally troubleshoot instrumentation and supporting equipment, and correlate geophysical data with geologic interpretation.Must have familiarity with all sedimentary, clastic, and carbonate lithology, and intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks. Need to be able to work independently 12 hours per day, 7 days per week at remote locations for extended time periods with little or no direct supervision. Candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills, experience with PC computers, and Excel, Word, Power Point software, valid drivers license, US citizenship or authorized work permit, reliable transportation, good driving record and insurance coverage. We need someone with sound judgement, strong work ethic, conscientious, detail-focused, and team-oriented.
