A concept geologist, responsible for integrating all subsurface data related to depositional/diagenetic processes in presalt carbonates and implementation into reservoir modeling.
Capture full range of geological scenarios, including input from subsurface analogues.
Geological integration at different scales, using side-wall cores, thin sections, and well logs for reservoir characterisation and seismic for geobody and correlation analysis.
Work across and in coordination with subsurface disciplines, including well planning.
Work up all data in a digital format.
Integrate subsurface analogue data into uncertainty span.
Envisage, coordinate and manage external studies with both internal and external service suppliers.
Follow-up of external studies (SCAL, PVT, etc.) and define SCAL, PVT input data for reservoir simulations.
Ensure that the concept geology work is performed in accordance with Equinor´s requirements.
Participate and share work in license meetings with partners, and internally in Equinor networks.
Some traveling should be anticipated
Minimum 7-10 years experience with proven subsurface project deliveries.
Higher education at MSc or PhD level in carbonate geoscience preferred.
Deep technological background within carbonate geoscience, preferably from pre-salt reservoirs.
Geological characterisation of carbonate reservoirs, and pre-salt reservoirs in particular:
Rock, core, thin-section description/measurement
Petrophysical complexity and characterisation
Seismic interpretation of carbonate plays and prospects.
Experience working with carbonate reservoirs and plays from both exploration and early phase field development and production is an advantage.
Experience within the following topics is also an advantage:
Image log analysis and fracture modelling
Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
Proactive by nature, takes initiative and has ability to work independently as needed.
Embraces cooperation with others.
Ability to drive internal processes through interaction with other organizational units.
Ability to handle a high work load and tight deadlines when needed. Performs well under pressure.
Communicate complexity in a clear and precise way with colleagues and partners.
Creative, independent and flexible in a demanding, multicultural business environment.
Team player with ability to work and communicate across disciplinary borders.
Ability to take and give constructive feedback.
Good communication skills and strong command of the English language, both oral and written. Portuguese language skill is a definite advantage.
Ability to live by our safety and security expectations.
We offer competitive salaries, a general bonus scheme, good pension and insurance schemes and a comprehensive welfare package. Equinor wants to ensure diversity in terms of gender, age and culture.
Ability to live by "I am safety" expectations
