Job Purpose
Responsible for leading the geological team and providing integrated subsurface support in the redevelopment of D35 PSC. Geological and geophysical expertise will be applied in the generating Field Development Plans that cover infill, appraisal and near field exploration opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
Undertake technical compilation, quality assurance, analysis and interpretation and borehole, seismic and other subsurface data, to generate integrated and coherent interpretations of the subsurface geology and petroleum system at reservoir scale
Collaborate closely with geophysicists and petrophysicists to access distribution of porosity and fluids in the subsurface
Interact closely with reservoir engineers and other subsurface team members to produce an understanding of reservoir compartmentalization incorporating production and other dynamic data
Take a leading role in building static reservoir models that honour the conceptual geology and meet business objective for well planning, reserves assessment and production forecasting
Qualifications, Skills & Experiences
Bachelors' degree in geology or related earth sciences subject
MSc qualification advantageous; should have industry specific training in relevant areas
At least 15 years' experience as a petroleum geologist, with at least 10 years in an operating company working in field appraisal and development; track record of achievement
Demonstrated experience in:
- Integrated reservoir characterization using static and dynamic data
- Structural geology and structural control on facies development and distribution
- Depositional systems analysis from outcrops, logs and cores
- Controls on reservoir quality in space and time
- Volumetric assessment of in-place hydrocarbons including uncertainty analysis
- Petrophysics and basic well log analysis
- Seismic stratigraphy and seismic interpretation workflows
- Well planning, casing point selection and target identification
- Planning, execution and evaluation of drilling programs
- Compilation of Field Development Plans (FDP)
Understanding of stakeholder relationships and demonstrated interpersonal competency
Support of economic evaluation and decision making by subsurface management
Familiarity with industry HEES issues, practices and standards
