VAC-66868My client in London are recruiting for a Lead Geophysicist on a contract basis.Role/ResponsibilitiesJurassic imaging and interpretation- Attempt to re-interpret Shaikan structure on existing PSTM and PSDM 3D datasets. Particularly crestal region near to SH-9- Review seismic data along with well penetrations and determine confidence zones across the current structural model - seismic quality map- Apply the VSP data obtained in SH-12 and SH-9 (and others) to the current structural model - Liaise with Geology (KP) and possibly specialist structural geologists (GRL) to revise cross sections across SH-9 - previous work done with GRL, creating balanced cross sections across the field along with their own field observations.- Recommend (and scope if necessary) reprocessing options - incorporating new velocity data, PSTM, PSDM, reviewing gathers. Hands-on approach with seismic processing essential. Triassic imaging and interpretation- Review the need for seismic reprocessing with a deeper focus- Attribute study to follow on from MSc project Operational support- Assist with well planning and seismic QC on well targets and depth prognosesRequirements:Masters Degree or higher in Petroleum Geology / Geophysics - At least 20 yrs direct Geophysical experience- Proven track record in operational planning (seismic and drilling) - Solid background in seismic processing (static modelling and PSTM / PSDM velocity modelling experience given utmost priority)- Significant fold and thrust belt background / experience - Experience using grav/mag data and integrating with seismic interpretation- Direct knowledge of the geology of fractured carbonates.- Expert user of Geolog and Kingdom softwares- Good understanding of drilling, logging, completions and testing operations. - Advanced English language skills.- High degree of computer literacy- Very advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
