We are looking for a Lead Geologist to provide support to Exploration and Business Development activities within IOG UK.
Responsibilities AND Accountabilities
Provision of reservoir geological support and data integration for Exploration and Business development activities
Sedimentological process and reservoir quality analysis of depositional systems for the input to regional and prospect level depositional models
Lead and prospect generation and maturation
Provide reservoir parameter ranges for probabilistic volumetric analyses
Provide geological support for the risking of leads and prospects
Geological input and support for M&A; activities
Maintain company stratigraphic framework for core exploration areas
Regional play and palaeogeographic mapping
Geological support and integration with geophysicists
Support peer reviews as and when required
Skills & Knowledge Required
Technical Skills
Post-graduate and undergraduate degree in Geology or another relevant subject
Significant previous experience of working within the oil and gas industry
Experience working within an Exploration and Business development team for an oil and gas operator
Experience of the West of Shetland, UK Central and Southern North Sea is preferable
Experience across multiple hydrocarbon basins and multiple play types demonstrating an excellent understanding of petroleum systems
Experience at generating sequence stratigraphic frameworks through the integration of biostratigraphy, core, well logs and seismic scale datasets
Demonstrable experience of the critical evaluation and qc of reservoir depositional models using significant sedimentological knowledge
Good presenter with experience of making stand-alone presentations within joint venture committees, to peers and to government agencies
Appreciation of the importance and applicability of commerciality in both the Exploration and Business Development process
Development and/or production experience will be well regarded
