To support OMV Upstream growth strategy, we are looking for a Lead Exploration Geoscientist to join the Exploration & Appraisal division, Exploration Geoscience Department in Vienna Head Office.
Lead role for implementing Exploration Growth activities and assuming responsibility for technical aspects of defined Exploration Growth projects
Lead and contribute to evaluation and preparation of presentation material for Growth activity with the goal of securing a decision on the viability of new positions or opportunities
Identify, evaluate and acquire material, high quality Growth opportunities that will enhance company's existing exploration prospect / lead portfolio
Undertake regional and basin evaluations of specific plays, generating play fairway evaluations to capture resource ranges, key risks and uncertainties
Advise, support and train E&A-teams; and junior colleagues from BO's and HO with respect to new venture activities
University degree in Geosciences, >15 years’ extensive experience in multiple countries, basins, and geological environments, and excellent knowledge of exploration methods and prospect assessments are essential
Experienced in multiple geological sub-disciplines, including structural geology, sequence stratigraphy, petrophysics, geochemistry, basin modelling, reservoir characterisation and/or seal analysis
Experienced in geophysical subsurface characterization, paleogeography and CRS mapping, preferably using Petrel and Player software as well as in utilizing geographic information systems, preferably ArcGIS, and probabilistic risking software, preferably GeoX
Advanced understanding of drilling and testing/production operations, wireline log data and formation evaluation
Excellent communication and presentation skills, strong project management mindset and availability for international travel are essential
